As I study in a military school, 26th January is considered a very important day. May events and completions are organized on this day. Participating in the parade is a very prestigious thing there . The practice for their starts a month before, Special instructors from different regiments is invited every year to train the cadets. As we cannot meet our parents the rest of the years, so our parents are invited to the school on this day.
Our day starts with the preparations for the function. We are ready at the parade ground at 7:00 a.m for hoisting the flag. Officers of high rank in the army get an invite to the occasion. So, it is a matter of pride for us to perform the parade.
After the parade, the chief guest speeches and distributed the prizes for the events that took place the year round. The ceremony is held in military discipline. After the prize distribution with a gap of exactly 15 min, various exhibition games are played. The parents are allowed to see the whole campus after the games. The whole campus is decorated by the cadets, especially the student’s room.
After the whole ceremony, our school organizes a feast for the cadets as we as their parents and all the visitors. On our insistence we often get a 3 days holiday after the republic day.
Due to all these activities, it is a very important as well as the favorite occasion of all the cadets.
