Pollution is among the most harmful things for the nature day by the activities of man. It is a by product of the industrial revolution and the recent technological development achieved by man Mixing of harmful artificial chemicals to the natural resources like soil, air , and water etc. is called pollution.

Pollution is of many types. Some of them air pollution, water pollution and sound pollution. After the industrial revolution man started using machines to simplify his work on a large in scale. These machines emit various kinds of gases into the air, some of these are harmful to man as to the atmosphere. These kinds of emissions by various machines mix into the air, water and soil, have poisoned them, them resulting in pollution.

The waste water from industries being thrown into water bodies like lakes, rivers etc. results in water pollution. These chemicals mix with water and prove harmful to man as as well as the quatic animals like fishes, frogs, etc. Human activities like washing cloth and utensils, bathing, urinating, defecation near the water sources is also used for domestic purposes and drinking. This results in spreading harmful diseases.

Big industries emit smoke into the atmosphere on a large scale. This smoke also includes poisonous gases. This emission of harmful gases in the air is known as air pollution. The smoke released, by vehicles running on roads also contributes to air pollution. It these gases are inhaled by man, it results into respiratory diseases like bronchitis, asthma, Lung cancer etc. due to inhaling polluted air.

Loud speakers in public rallies, protests etc. honking horns, high pitch sounds from electronic equipment and machines cause sound pollution. This kind of pollution is mainly seen at publics place like roads. Continuous exposure to high volume sound can be severely harmful for our ears, and partial and complete deafness can be caused as a result, Machines like drilling machine, mixer, grinder, high volume of TV, computers etc. also contribute to sound pollution.

Thus, the menace of pollution is completely the effect of human activities and it can also be controlled if determined steps are taken by everyone.
